One of the best parts about dining at Walt Disney World is that the restaurants are incredibly unique and immersive. Stepping into a restaurant at Disney World can sometimes feel like stepping into your favorite movie, onto a different planet, or, in the case of Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, back in time. We’ve eaten at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater twice now and definitely recommend it. Read on for all the details about this super fun dining experience!

The Atmosphere

This restaurant is all about the atmosphere! While you’re being led to your table, the host or hostess will give you a little spiel about how you’re traveling back in time. Every time I step into this dining room, I’m just wowed! I love the fake night sky and that the tables are in classic cars. It’s just SO MUCH FUN.

There are no windows and you can’t even see the entrance from any of the tables, so it really does feel like you’re at a drive-in movie theater! The movie screen shows a loop of trailers for 50s-era sci-fi B movies, and they are hilarious. Think Attack of the 50-Foot Woman and Cat-Women of the Moon—totally zany and weird, but really fun to watch! Liam absolutely loves it. And apparently they’re all real films, which totally blows my mind. (What were they thinking in the 50s? 😂😂)

The only drawback I would say is this isn’t really a restaurant where you can have an intense conversation. 😂 (Not that we’re really interested in doing that while we eat lunch on our Disney vacation anyway.) In the photo above, you can see that some of the cars have sideways tables in them. But since there’s just the three of us, we usually get seated at the other style of table, which has two separate rows for two people each. But we really don’t mind, and we like to watch the screen anyway! It’s practically a dream come true for Liam anytime he can watch movies while he eats a meal.

The Food

You can view the menu for Sci-Fi on Disney’s website here! They serve pretty standard stuff—burgers, milkshakes, some pasta dishes, etc—with entrees ranging in price from $17 to $24 (kid’s meals range from $10 to $12). In my opinion, these prices aren’t bad for a table service restaurant with such fun theming!

On our most recent meal here, Liam and I started out with milkshakes, and I can’t recommend them enough! I had the Oreo Cookie, and Liam had Chocolate. Maybe it had just been a while since I’d had a milkshake 😂 but it was so good!

I ordered the Oven Roasted Turkey Sandwich, which came with fries (pictured above). It had bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cilantro avocado aioli. It was even better than I expected—the multigrain bread it was served on was SO good. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Korey ordered the Chicken Pasta and said it was very good, and Liam really enjoyed the Mac and Cheese from the Kids’ Menu! Wins all around for us with this lunch!

Our server was outstanding, our food came out quickly, and I never felt rushed. We were able to take our time eating (and enjoying the AC). And even after our check was brought to us, our waiter continued to check in with us to make sure we didn’t need anything.
