It can be tempting to pack an entire closet full of clothes for a Disney trip. Trust me, I’ve done it! You know you’ll take lots of pictures, you want to look cute and be comfortable, and it’s all a bit overwhelming! But don’t worry—the capsule wardrobe has entered the chat. These eight pieces plus a few accessories will give you all the outfits you’ll need for a full week at Disney World, making your outfits a breeze to plan and pack and keeping you cute and comfortable all week long.

floral tank | princess flowers tee | minnie mouse tee | star wars tee

black dress | denim shorts | comfy shorts | sweatshirt

new balance | vans

R2D2 bag | fanny pack | black backpack | magic band | star necklace | dangle earrings | hoop earrings | black ears | pink ears

One thing that makes capsule wardrobes work is staying within a color palette! I’m very into this olive green and dusty pink combo right now (as you can probably tell above), but you can choose whatever colors suit you! Sticking with the same 2–3 colors, plus your neutrals (black, white, and denim) can really help you mix and match. And the mix and match is KEY for keeping this to as few pieces as possible.

Here’s how I would make the above pieces into outfits for each day of the trip!

I couldn’t fit it above, but if you needed another travel day outfit, I would pop a t-shirt over the dress again for ultimate comfort on your travel home day! Rewearing a few pieces can help you get the most mileage out of a capsule wardrobe like this. I get that this can feel weird, especially if you’re traveling at a hot time of year! But keep in mind that all Disney resort hotels have laundry facilities! If you’re lucky enough to be staying in a DVC villa, you’ll have laundry right in your room. But even value resorts have laundry facilities that you can use for a small cost. I always pack a travel-size laundry detergent and some dryer sheets just in case we need to do a quick load of laundry.

More Tips for Packing Light
  • Always bring two pairs of shoes. I know it can feel tempting to only bring one to save space. But it rains in Florida A LOT, and if one pair of shoes gets soaked you’ll be glad to have a second pair.
  • Bags, ears, and accessories can help you switch up your looks, and they usually take up less space. I chose the bags above specifically because they are flexible. I’ll roll up two of them and stick them inside the other to save space!
  • This goes without saying, but make your capsule wardrobe work for you! Like I said above, choose a color palette that you love! You’ll also want to make sure the pieces you choose are comfortable for you! Comfort is key when you’re spending the day in a theme park.
