Ultimate 90s Kid Disney+ Movie Marathon

When we started quarantining for COVID-19 back in March 2020, we started a Pixar movie marathon. Back then I (naively) thought, “Surely this will keep us occupied until this quarantine stuff is over.” Twenty movies later, we needed a new marathon! So we watched all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Then all the Star Wars movies (plus season 1 of The Mandalorian). Then all the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, low and behold, we are still quarantining. Plus I’ve come to love our family movie nights so much that even if things were magically back to normal, I think we would keep up with the movie marathons. We are movie people, and this gives us something to look forward to in our evenings spent at home. It also keeps us from fighting over which movie to watch. 🙂

So we’re ready for another marathon!

We were so bummed to have to postpone and then cancel our 2020 Disney trip, but I’ve been trying to keep the Disney magic alive while we’re stuck at home. So I knew I wanted a marathon that was on Disney+ and that brought the nostalgia I craved! There are so many movies that I loved growing up that I want my kiddo to see, so I decided our next marathon should be all about the 90s. And there’s certainly no shortage of 90s nostalgia on Disney+. There are so many good (and not actually good but we love them anyway) 90s movies on Disney+, but I needed somewhere to start. (Like I said, we don’t need any fighting over which movie to watch.) And I love lists! So here is my list of 54 movies from the 90s that can be streamed on Disney+!

Some disclaimers:

• I know Honey, I Shrunk the Kids came out in 1989, but it was close enough! It feels like a “90s movie” to me, and I felt like it had to be included, especially since Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves are on here!
• This list does not include any holiday movies, which was TOUGH because Hocus Pocus and I’ll Be Home for Christmas are some of my all-time faves. But you can find my Halloween movie marathon here and my Christmas movie marathon here!
• This list does include movies that are on Disney+ that might not have been Disney movies when they released.
• There were a handful of movies that should be on this list but are not on Disney+ for some reason: Angels in the Outfield, The Jungle Book (live action from 1994), Airbud, and Angels in the Endzone. Maybe these titles will make it to Disney+ eventually, and if they do I’ll update this list!
• Everything on this list is rated G or PG except Dr. Dolittle and 10 Things I Hate About You, which are both rated PG-13. (I probably won’t watch 10 Things I Hate About You with my 8-year-old (I’ll watch that one by myself because it’s my favorite), but we probably will watch Dr. Dolittle. He’s seen all of the Star Wars movies and all of the MCU movies, many of which are PG-13. We just decide on a case-by-case basis because that’s what works for us!)
